a delicious retro-styled RPG homage to the eerie dread of ito junji and the cosmic horror of lovecraft. each play-through is a relatively brief experience, but a huge selection of mysteries to solve, events to explore, and secrets to unlock make it enjoyable run after run. my favorite part is the numerous player characters and the secrets of their pasts only hinted at.

a found-footage mockumentary about the death of a girl and its effects on her family. this came to me extremely highly recommended as a horror movie, but more than frightening me, it left me inescapably sad. the ending was intensely bleak in ways that were still occurring to me days after i watched it. i enjoyed the way the narrative played with time, though there were definitely loose plotlines that could have been cut.
